The Place for Life Services San Antonio Community

A graduate of the International Bible College in San Antonio, Rick Hawkins serves as the lead pastor and president of Quest Church, Inc. in Norman, Oklahoma. Earlier in his career, Bishop Rick Hawkins established Place for Life, formerly called the Family Praise Center, a San Antonio ministry that continues to serve its community through mission trips, outreach, and the state’s first faith-based charter school.

The Place for Life upholds a mission to serve as an extension of Jesus Christ himself, operating various worship services and study groups to connect members to the community. Led by Pastor Dustin Hawkins, the church embodies Jesus Christ’s spiritual love and power. The Place for Life offers a General Worship service every Sunday morning at 10:15, as well as a mid-week Worship and Words service on Wednesdays at 7 pm.

Additional ministries include small-group study sessions and KIDSlife children’s groups available at all services. For church members who cannot attend in person, all services are live-streamed and available for online viewing.

A Look at STEM Curriculum at the School of Excellence in Education

Bishop Rick Hawkins preached the word of God in San Antonio, Texas, before founding Quest Church in Norman, Oklahoma, where he currently serves. A licensed and ordained minister, Rick Hawkins also founded the School of Excellence in Education (SEE) in San Antonio.

Since its founding in 1998, the SEE has provided an educational environment for children rooted in safety, morality, and discipline. The institution operates as a charter school, and prides itself on small class sizes and college readiness initiatives. Moreover, the SEE provides an array of extracurricular activities for students’ enjoyment, in addition to comprehensive science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) coursework.

SEE’s STEM program adheres to a set of six rigorous benchmarks required of demonstration schools participating in the Texas STEM Academy program. The fourth benchmark, which involves curriculum, instruction, and assessment, requires the school to develop a master schedule and formulate curriculum alignment documents. Moreover, the SEE offers a testing calendar for standardized testing such as the ACT, SAT, and TCI.

How You Can Donate to Hope Haven Crisis Nursery

The founder of Family Praise Center, Inc., in San Antonio, Texas, Rick Hawkins is an accomplished bishop who, over the course of 26 years, grew the church to a membership of more than 5,000. Moving his ministry beyond San Antonio, Rick Hawkins founded Quest Church, Inc., in Norman, Oklahoma, in 2019. Through the church, he supports local organizations like Hope Haven Crisis Nursery.

Hope Haven offers emergency care to children when they need it the most. The nursery provides free care to children below the age of five whose parents are facing distress, usually in the form of domestic violence, homelessness, or joblessness. The facility also caters to children whose parents are struggling with a medical or mental health issue. It is staffed primarily by volunteer nannies and depends on donations to run.

If you would like to donate to the nursery, you can send a cash donation by check or using payment apps like PayPal and Venmo. Payment details are available on the nursery’s website. You also have the option of setting up recurring donations. Because it is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations are tax deductible. A receipt is emailed to all donors for tax purposes.

Besides funds, you can also donate items a mother could use for a baby. Examples include diapers, snacks, wipes, blankets, strollers, and bottles. Such donations can be left on the nursery’s porch or a pick-up plan can be arranged with the nonprofit’s team. This is necessary to protect the identities of children currently being cared for.
